Migraine Awareness Month #17 – Mission Impossible

Migraine and Headache Disorders: Missions no one in their right mind would accept, and yet here we are plugging away.  If someone had told me this was what my life would be like as I stood on the threshold of adulthood, I would have thrown my hands up and shouted, “That’s Impossible!”  One day falls into the next, however, and sometimes there’s a day with barely a smidge of a migraine or several days of low level pain.  More often than not they keep me from life.  Come what may.  That’s how we do it.

What I really wish is that while we’re on this Migraine Mission Impossible, people would just back off and leave us in peace.  Anyone with a headache disorder can share many “remedies” given to him or her from multiple sources.  During this blog challenge I’ve had two such golden gems left in my comments’ sections.

The first was from a faith healer who wanted me to send a picture of myself so they could pray over me and cure me of my migraines.  The other was from someone trying to sell me a product made in India that could cure migraines, back pain, high blood pressure and so much more.

So yes, I’m on a Mission Impossible with Migraines in more ways then one!

June 2013, Migraine and Headache Awareness Month, is dedicated to Unmasking the Mystery of Chronic Headache Disorders.
