Disneyland Part III: The Adventure land had changed drastically in fourteen years. No longer were there long gaps between one end of the park and another. It was all filled in, with the town representing Walt Disney’s early days in California. There were so many more exhibits and a whole new area of fun! I’m talking some Maters here.
Cars Land was the best. I totally want a make-up race on the Cars ride because Jana and I lost! New rides are often best repeated. The first time around, you don’t know what to expect, so maybe you don’t notice as much. We had so much fun on our Disney trip, but California Adventure may have topped all. There was so much to do, and the Aladdin Show was awesome. The actor playing Genie is destined for the big time I’m pretty sure.
Jana and I ate at the Carthay restaurant which was a replica of the Carthay Theatre where Disney’s Snow White first premiered. There were pictures all over of Walt with different celebrities. I couldn’t resist snapping a pic of Walt & Shirley Temple.

The night was capped off with The World of Color show, projected in largesse against the California Screamin’ coaster rails. Watching it all flash before me, I was struck at the genius that was Walt Disney and what he gave all of us. Without the magic of Disney, the world would be a lot duller.
