If only I could sign my neighbor to join a Quiet Pledge for this azure skied Monday, it would be summer perfection. Ah, but then C wouldn’t be himself – always busy with the mower, chainsaw, drill, table saw, power washer, and shotgun (for the occasional pesky mole and yes, it never ceases to startle the heck out of me). So right now C just finished a few turns on his riding mower as he uses it for hauling and his saw is jagging through my quality air space in our front “back” yard.
Aside from C, it’s just awesome out. A few butterflies and one hummingbird at a time feed upon a few blooms of the butterfly bush that’s over my head. Sometimes the rapid fire buzzing of those hummingbird wings sound so loudly magnificent. How do they come from such a small creature?
Someone across the road now begins the assault of mowing. I was hoping on a school Monday to extract the best out of this day, but there are too many retirees in this semi-rural area. Meanwhile C is steady on his table saw, and I can’t imagine what he is conjuring up. He is gifted and remodeled his entire house, adding on to it over time. Speaking of time, I guess it’s time to either go back inside or find earplugs!
