Migraine Awareness Month #2 X-Men

Migraine and Headache Disorders Super Heroes – Who in Your Life Goes Above and Beyond the Call of Duty and How?

My sweet husband Jim is my Super Hero!  He has gone above and beyond the call of duty by understanding my migraines for the twenty two years in which they’ve become chronic.  Jim has donned his cape to become my personal champion.

How has he done so?  My Super Hero husband put off his retirement so that I could quit my job even though he has been suffering with chronic bone-on-bone knee pain for the last four years.  Jim could see how much my working was affecting head.  I think he was hoping that maybe the migraines would lessen once I stayed home (they have not).  After two and a half years when I received my Social Security benefits, Jim was finally able to plan his retirement.

We are now both at home.  Because of his knee troubles, Jim can’t wait on me as maybe I’d like him to do, but he is forever my Caped Avenger.  I know he would slay the migraine dragon if he could.  All the Migraine Beast needs to do is show itself in its real life ogre form, and that’d be the end of it.

(This dear husband of mine puts up with my migraine irritability, sleepiness and multiple missed cancellations on date nights and family events.  I want to give this man a medal!)

June 2013, Migraine and Headache Awareness Month, is dedicated to Unmasking the Mystery of Chronic Headache Disorders.  The 2013 Migraine and Headache Blog Challenge is a project of  http://FightingHeadacheDisorders.com

Just trying to navigate a life circumvented by chronic migraines. Sometimes I write about managing with those, but at other times I am prone to deviate a bit.
