Migraine Awareness Month #9

Subtitle:  Day Dream Believer
Describe your dream day without a migraine to hold you back.

The following is just one scenario from many dream days I would love to choose.

I rise very early on this beautiful, warm sunny day.  The hot water and steam from the shower invigorate me as I fully awaken.  My family and friends are going on a jet boat ride down the river.  Other than sunscreen, there’ll be no hiding from the bright sun.

Our group has commandeered the entire boat which seats thirty of us.The captain is game to do loops and plunges for us down the river.  We laugh as cold river water spills all over us.  The jet boat is like a carnival ride, thrilling with each 360° spin and sudden stop along the way.  I’m excited to be sharing this experience with everyone.  There are no worries today, and that truly is the best gift of all.

At a lunch break along the banks at a nearby lodge, I order a glass of red wine, a Monterey Jack cheese & ham melt, along with some decadent chocolate truffles for dessert.  This is sheer indulgence.  Red wine?  And at noon no less?  The ever forbidden Monterey Jack cheese is a true delight as is the chocolate.  Enjoying each of these three treats on their own would normally end badly, but having them altogether?  Delicious madness.

We hoot and hollar loudly on the return trip.  We spot osprey, two soaring bald eagle, a deer and a river turtle sunning itself. The sun shines ever brighter but splashes of water keep us cool.  The boat ride back to our resort takes two hours, but when we get there, I’m up for some shopping with my daughter, sisters and others.  The mile walk to the village gift shops is no deterrent.  My energy today is limitless.

The evening is comprised of another great meal – three cheese lasagne with more red wine. Afterwards, I go with my son and daughter to see the latest blockbuster movie followed up by nightclub dancing with my sweet husband.  Noise is not a problem tonight.  Yaahoo!!!

To share such a fun day with my family and friends would be awesome.  Too often, I’ve had to decline parts or all of such ventures because of migraines.  So it would only be fitting to relish a great time with those who are so important in my life.

What would your dream day consist of?
